Sounds like Intel's entire server business is at risk from clustered dual processor Athlons - and that all that time and money put into Itanium was a total waste...

Ellison said in a meeting last summer that his highest priorities were to put everything he had on Intel and Linux. He said nothing about AMD. Looks like Larry's words are bearing fruit. Oracle has a very tight relationship with Compaq, on both the Tru64/VMS and Intel platforms. No room or prospects for AMD because one X86 vendor is enough. Larry will move up to Itanium also to use that VMS port we just got done discussing. Again, no room at the inn for AMD.

Whaddaya - STUPID !! ??

Ellison said Intel Servers - NOT AthyWipey Servers.

You think he wants Oracle to collapse with shoddy servers just to save a few bucks?

You must be overdosing on DUMB PILLs.
