DAK, I would like to try an experiment. Take congress's pension money and put it in a blind trust investing in the stock market ( no gold stocks!)only and see how they do over the next 10 years ! -vbg- Mike

That's what we are doing over here in Australia... no social security saving scheme. Age pension is recognised as welfare payment for those with insufficient savings. 8-9% of wages are mandated to be saved by employer in superannuation schemes which are mostly in mutual fund like things. Simialr to Singapore I believe.
