Preface, the title of this thread is WAR and that is what this is about. Subtitled as, "Wanna Fight?" First the article:guardian.co.uk Now my response. I am getting sick and tired, as I believe are many Americans with you wimps in Europe. First, we saved your buts in WWI, then you goofed things up again and we had to spill more blood to save your sorry as_es a second time in WWII. Your partitioning of Africa has caused untold agony. Your inability to live in harmony is affecting us in Kosovo, Serbia, Croatia, and to keep your economies going we had to get involved in Iraq. In all these situations you sent over a few bandages and maybe a tent or to. We've had to support you with billions of dollars in aid after WWII and to keep the peace we've got to keep tens of thousands of soldgiers on your soil. Did I forget to mention that had the French given French Indochina to Ho Chi Minh like the US asked in 1945, the US wouldn't have lost tens of thousands of lives defending against communism; something Ho adopted when there was nowhere else to turn? All you do is snipe. You've never appreciated a thing we've done, and all you do is complain. No death penalty you say. May I remind you of Death Camps, Serbian massacres, just to name a few. Complain about Israel's treatment of your Arab buddies. I didn't hear the French populace complain about the Foreign Legion and how they treated enemy captives (same region generally, i think) I won't talk about your treatment of Jews in the '40's don't have to. Look at how the continent treats Foreign guest workers there now. Look at your immigration policy. Look at the opportunity you give the world. So, shut the Fu_k up, stand up and be counted OR we'll consider you one of them as well. We've fought enough Wars to let you know who can smash whom. Wanna find out! If you can't support us, shut up, drink some wine, port or beer depneding on your location, stamp a few grapes or press a few olives and leave us alone to do the heavy lifting. We don't need you, but we can't stand you chattering away behind our backs. bill
