Agree that iran least inclined but if ayotollahs regain complete power and they do have the military under control at present, they could ultimately pose the greatest danger. It would be great if we could shake them free from this tree and help the democratic elements gain real control. To do that, we would have to influence the military so when the clerics order troops to shoot the students, the troops react like they did in russia, not like they did in china.
I do believe cynical deals with iraq and NK are possible. I dont think sadaam will committ suicide if given a chance to avoid it and i think NK can be plied with food and aid by the US, SKorea and Japan. We might be playing a game of chicken with those two right now. But with Iran the internal battle must work its way out in our favor for us to avoid a conflict. Mike
