I wake up to find green futures, which are rather disturbing. Given the terrible sentiment, poor index performance from yesterday and fresh 18 year lows on the Nikkei, there really is no good reason to explain this buying. While the current p/c ratio does support a short-term tradable pop, the VIX and VXN could only confirm that on a big down opening. With a green opening, I feel this gives at least 75% chance of another big, downside breach today. I give a 20% chance of churning for the day and a 5% chance of a futures driven, furious, short covering rally. Put on your kevlar. (~)^(~)
