Let me narrow the focus. If we are talking about a Saturday night poker game among friends, I'd agree with you.
In that case the game is (presumably) honest and not rigged in the house's favor since there is no house. And there are no ads promising to make you an instant millionaire when in fact the intent is to lure you into a rigged game and take as much money as possible.

The intent of those slot machines isn't to give a sucker an even break.
