We are basically heading back to the colonial era whether we realize it or not. If what is accepted is true-that the source of terrorism is rooted in approximately 60 primitive 3rd world nations, where the enemies of the West prey upon the ignorance and poverty of peoples trapped in a distant time and infected by inferior cultures-then it means that the post WWII idea that colonialism was a failure and immoral is, purely and simply, mistaken. The citizens of the United States, as well as of Europe, will have to experience a gradual (or perhaps rapid) change in their thinking process, so that they can once again accept colonialism. Their failure to do so will result in their continuing to live in a world of September 11th's.

The world is still a dangerous place, and the ideals of liberty must be re-kindled here (by defeat of the left in both the political and academic environments), and abroad (by killing Islamic fundamentalists and other terror-oriented segments of the 3rd world).

Abandonment of the United Nations would be a good early step, as well as a formal mutual defense alliance with Israel...
