Check the price on new machines. You'd be amazed what $700 buys these days. Certainly for that price you'll get something that will run rings around that old system. As I said, the only thing I did with the old DELL was add a 256M memory stick and transfer my WinTV card over from an older Pentium II system. If I had to do much more I probably would have just replaced the system. Moore's law is really starting to kick in these days. It took 50 years to produce the first 100 MHz microprocessor. Pentium 4s are now adding 100 MHz incremental speeds roughly every 6 weeks and dropping.
