Not dire, in the sense it is do-able.
But dire from in the sense that we're losing trillions into incompetent, waste, and criminal predatory government activity.

The worst of it is the predatory government.
This administration, paid for by you, puts itself above examination, but creates cadres of specialists to examine you. A thoroughly disclosed and organized budget would show this so-called "black budget", once you account for and subtract the rest of the activities, when there's a few billion missing, you've found your "black budget"

Unfortunately, the urgency is from the fact that Rumsfeld has just disclosed over two trillion dollars in that "gee, we don't know where it went, darn" category.

I have a whiz-kid friend who was in the intelligence services, who was given unbelievable dollars and resources to do computer research during the George I administration. Even today, anytime he needs another $100k he gets it, and he's not officially in their service anymore. These secret dollars are waaaaaay out of hand.
