Then while we're at it, let's pass a law that all the casinos have to put up signs saying "If you play this game, you will lose money. The more you play, the more you will lose." That would, theoretically, save a lot more people than forcing companies to issue financial statements which, while inaccurate, could be understood by simpletons.

Unfortunately, in the real world the simpletons who are unable to distinguish between a casino and the stock market would continue to play a loser's game, and they would continue to find a way to blame others for their losses.
