I have a new suggestion and or idea, rather than try to attack the NASD at every turn, why not try to get the people who are good within the NASD understand the importance of stopping fraud at the issuer level. Yes its true a more honest marketplace will result in less oppurtunities to profit on the short side, but doesnt it make perfect sense that such an approach would increase the possibilities of making money investing in honest companies?

Granted it will take years to clean up WallStreet to any significantly measurable process, however why not make that a goal instead of the destruction of an Organization that seems to be here to stay.

At one point in time I vowed to never pay the 60K owed to Bear Stearns by an arbitration panel. Well i broke that vow and paid it. Not because i had to but because i wanted to.

We approached them, they didnt approach us.

This idea can gain strength if we all approach the ones who have the power and offer to them that we arent idiots and understand and want to see improvements and help them understand how that can occur.

We can do it constructively , and we can do it together.

just a thought,

opinions are welcome
