Well, I am still comfortable with my Dow puts. I still marvel at getting puts (LEAP 140s of 12/03) where the time value is a discount rather than a premium and where there is the possibility of holding for long term capital gains. Maybe there's something I am missing--such as a wholesale collapse of the options markets where nobody gets paid anything.

Also, the NEM LEAP calls look,as one may say, golden. On your (long-ago) suggestion I made some money last year trading XAU puts, but then saw that the NEMs went much further out, again offering the chance for reduced taxation. Whether I hold them that long is another question.
