"It is estimated that troops in World War Two shot at the enemy about a quarter of the time." This has nothing to do with our primary discussion, but what the Hell?? Are you talking about ALL countries, or just some? What is the statistical basis for this 25% figure? Have you done other research to corroborate this rather unique assertion? If this were true for one country and not another, it would mean that one country was operating at a 25 % disadvantage relative to personnel. It does not make sense. Did this come from a Government source? Are the details of this study in the public domain? I would like to know the credentials of the people who did this "research". (Even though it has nothing to do with our primary discussion...)
