I think Eavis may have more reason to be truthful than Cartwright. All CEOs are cheerleaders and hopelessly partisan. They can't be trusted. They no longer see honesty as useful. With a few exceptions, like Warren Buffett, who is generally a straight shooter. But all these high growth type CEOs are regularly trying to pull the wool over the investor's eyes.
