Warm cells and temperature inversions are mysteries for sure. Just as it got dark and the rain started again it jumped from 31 to 37 and stayed there until the rain quit. The wind shifted from the North to the South.

I remember a temperature inversion back in '68. In town it was foggy and we had a 30 mile drive. Rats. When we hit the edge of town the air became super clear with a blue sky. Now the kicker... there was hoar frost 1/2 inch thick on every branch, stick, fence post, wire or blade of grass. It was so light in weight the grass didn't bend. And white. Like I've never seen since.
