Thomas, you really got to educate yourself! Once you do you won't be confused about difference between Turkey, (NATO ally) and Saddam...Where you do have inadvertant uneducated guess (point) is that Kurdish situation may get out of control (Palestinian problem may pale in comparison)

Also Kurds, like Jews are one of the oldest inhabitants in the Region, far preceeding Arabs (and Ottomans)
