From our limited correspondence, I even got the impression that you were a generous guy with a good sense of humor, and, as a writer myself, I never held the fact that you wrote trading books against you - to the contrary, I think much of your work is terrific. Ditto in re: lectures, web sites, columns, whatever. I realize that the trading biz is susceptible to all kinds of hucksterism, but, all the same, why should traders be any less interested in side-businesses and extraneous self-enrichment than, say, doctors, lawyers, political consultants, construction engineers, wine connoisseurs, or dog breeders? And why should traders be any less "permitted" to write about or otherwise "exploit" their lives and work than anyone else? All that said, if you re-read and reflect on your post, I think you might realize that it comes across, to be frank, as, well, kind of weird. You have "no other outlets," yet you deny them them to yourself because you see "[W]ithholding [your] contribution" as "the only way" to "get even" with "jerks" and "idiots." As if the "jerks" and "idiots" are really hurt? Seems to me that you'd be hurting only yourself and the people who appreciate your work. I have no idea what kind of strange messages or attacks or whatever you've endured, but, I mean, it's just a bunch of trash pixels attached to pseudonyms... I guess I can understand why people get so sensitive about this stuff, invest it with "reality," but doing so seems even more pointless than worrying too much about all the flesh-and-blood jerks and idiots in the 3-d world.
