I hardly need a primer on technology and innovation.

And there you go again extrapolating to 100 mhz CPUs. That kind of stuff should be beneath you.

First you post to argue that a grey market isn't happening as if those who participate are somehow dinosaurs using 300 baud modems. Now you switch tunes it isn't a threat 'cause the cos are innovating ahead of it. Maybe make up your mind?

Fact remains that innovation is also outpacing need. And demand is being satisfied to an increasing extent without stress on supply. Coincident with a growth in capacity beyond nominal demand.

The threat is in the combination of forces, not in any one.

Sometimes I get the feeling you'd be explaining to the camel that each of the straws isn't heavy enough to worry about. All the while the poor beast is groaning under the cuumulative load.

As to your observation about being robust against margin squeeze, we only have to wait a few days to take an informed view on the robustness of Cisco's gross margins.
