Hi Jim, The joys of West Coast insomnia for both of us, eh? There's a very interesting new TV series down here that you might be able to access in Vancouver. It is Bill Moyers' "Now". pbs.org The subject is NAFTA, as in: Mamie - How I love ya, How I love ya, how I ta shaft ya. My dear old mamie..... Seems that you damn Canucks may be losing out on softwoods big time and losing jobs, and communities and futures for families. But you guys need not fear. You are getting your pound of flesh via NAFTA's Chapter 11, which is being used by a Canadian corporation, Methanex, to extort nearly $1 Billion US from California in order for that state to abate MTBE from its gas mix and from the environment. Yup. All you lumberjacks are getting screwed by the U.S. Trade Representative. And we're getting screwed by NAFTA. Fair is fair, after all. This is almost enough to make me mad. But then I read this: nytimes.com and realize I need to save a little venom for the a$$holes who aren't cross-bordered.... Just plain cross, Ray
