Good material! When one considers the military, one considers the purpose of kids being properly trained to be killers.

My experience with army kids led me to believe that they would not aim to miss. But then, your web site does indicate that the Vietnam training brought it up to 90 % (wasn't it?). That was a long time ago. I suppose such is no longer relevant. I have horrid statistics which seem to belie what you said..but leave it be..it is not your problem...

Of anecdotal note here perhaps, is a tale I'm aware of, in which a handful of recruits at Ft. Campbell Ky. refused to take part in the stab & shout "kill" exercises- my big brother being one- back in '69. My brother(who nearly attended Canada instead) kept slipping to the back of the line. Coming to the end, the Drill Sergeant asked him if he'd taken his turn, and he replied "NO SIR." "You will take your turn"..."No sir."

As he told it, he did not take his turn, nothing much came of it in terms of punishment(???), but he became one of the few on the base who wasn't sent to Vietnam. He became a supply clerk in El Paso.
