I believe Commodore is still in Europe, but in what capacity I don't know. At any rate, it is likely AMD will thrive in the post Jerry era, because Jerry did challenge Intel, and appears to have survived. While AMd has been around for 30 yrs, approximately 14 of those yrs were spent being a second supplier to Intel. It has been just since the 486 days, 6-8 yrs, that AMD was forced to come up with a better design, and did so with the Athlon in 99. It really didn't take that long to best the best computer design team in the world. To put that in comparison, Intel has been designing the Itanium longer than AMD has been designing the K5, K6, and K7; and so far, Itanium is considered a flop. Intel can only hope that Hammer is another Itanium,rather than another Athlon.
