TheBare..first of all, statistics can always be interpreted in any way you want.

For example: is a baseball pitcher with 20 wins and 4 losses and a 4.25 ERA (on a team that averages 6 runs for him every time he pitches) better than a pitcher with 9 wins and 11 losses, but has a 2.10 ERA (b/c this team scores an average of 2 runs for him when he pitches. Who is the better pitcher?

Second: Ned Davis is like Joe Battipaglia / Abby Cohen / Mary Meeker / Brian Finnerty ---- they will NEVER say anything bad about the market. And most of the time, they won't say anything NEUTRAL about the market. They are the folks who look at a glass half full. Remember all of Abby's predictions for market indices for 2000, for 2001? They were all badly off the mark.

I forget what Abby has targets for this year, but it's well above the highs we reached in Jan 2002.

summary: analysts are MORONS. EMLX was downgraded when it was in teens..now it's upgraded when it's in 40s-50s.
