"This is a crisis moment in the confidence of the American people to be able to trust their leaders to do right by them. And the leaders are coming up short. And being shown to be mere grasping, greedy hucksters"

I agree with you completely, Ray. We can argue as much as we want on partisan grounds, but there is already huge evidence on the table that Enron BOUGHT its way to prominence with BOTH parties, and lots of evidence as well that Enron got the results it was looking for from BOTH parties.

The illusion that is being exposed is that this country is a democracy in which the leadership is elected by the masses, and responsive to the masses. What is becoming transparently obvious is that those who are elected (of either party) feel their allegiance first and foremost to their major campaign contributors and DELIVER a legislative agenda largely SUPPLIED BY their financial supporters.

This is not new news to anybody who understands how the system actually operates. And it has been "suspected" by the little guy for the longest time. But now it is in the process of being proven PUBLICLY.

Namaste!
