Chess teaches you concentration. It's excellent for children who need focus. It also sharpens the minds of elderly people with a game that is respected at all ages. It is a war game and although more men enjoy playing than women, it is still growing in popularity among women too.

As for computer simulation, I am not privy to the latest and greatest advances because I still prefer the old fashioned way of playing.

BTW - I would sign any petition that would allow the rules to be changed so that the black team (or whichever color ones own particular board uses for the darker pieces) can move first, ...no problem with that change.
