They are an organization that's main thrust is protecting our 2nd amendment constitutional rights. There more like a conservative version of the ALCU then they are like a chamber of commerce.

Tim, bull, they want the right to carry weapons period ......at any cost and with little if any restrictions. The fact that a constitutional right comes into play helps bolster their argument; otherwise, the NRA would never bring up.

The ACLU does protect to the excess at times the various rights provided for under the Constitution.....that is their sole purpose without ulterior motivation. The NRA is by no stretch of anyone's imagination a comparative organization.

And this is my final comments to you re this issue. If nearly 30,000 deaths per year means nada to you and is not a persuasive enough reason for strict gun control, then I can't imagine what argument would convince you.

Just a few interesting links:

The one below talks about terrorists and guns.

bradycampaign.org

This one discusses why the ACLU does not believe gun control is violation of any constitutional right.

aclu.org

And this article discusses the entire issue but also points out that the NRA is virtually uncompromising in its stance and appears reluctant to consider even the least of the gun control measures.
