One thing to remember is that it was do or die at that time for AMD. The K-sixers weren't doing it, and if the K7 had flopped, or maybe even if it had been just a PII - PIII type improvement over the K6, it might have been curtains. Sometimes companies have to be put into the position of a cornered rat, I guess. Tony
