Dunno....what WOULD have happened? Maybe you can explain and convince more people that the stock market is a great place to be, as opposed to other, more guaranteed investments right now?

Just for the record, NewYorkCityBoy deleted virtually all of the post to which I'm responding, and to which I did respond directly. He must have thought better than to make the statement he did, which postulated that if he had quadrupled his investment in the S&P, he would have done better than the newspaper columnist I quoted was postulating. What a hoot. No one with a big investment in the S&P has done that great lately. Happy to know the New York stock market types realize this.
