If there is policy continuity, Syria is an expansionist power with its own designs on Israel, as a part of Greater Syria. It fought for control of Lebanon through proxies, and similarly seeks to use terrorist proteges to undermine the PLO and others, so that it can have a seat at the table when the Palestinians gain more territory and leverage. I can hardly see how we can ignore Syria, although I am not sure how the Administration will choose to approach the problem.......
