In all fairness, I think Intel and AMD have gone down separate paths here serving separate markets. There are tradeoffs to both and customers want the choice.

Temperature range and you know it. Dunno about Ford, but about a third of AMD sales are into the automotive industry, not bad potatoes no matter how you slice them...

It depends. It's important in our products, and we are not unique.
