Thanks for an intelligent post. I might just mention that I have seen evidence that Wolanchuk called the crash of '87, so he apparently has not always been bullish. However, I don't know whether he called the current bear market or not.

Not true he shorts all the time...
He does stay long his stocks though...
He shorted the S&P Friday at 1123..
Dont believe everything you hear..you are much smarter than that..
I can tell you first hand you can make a living on his commodity, precious metal calls..
