<<Starting to under Don better.>>

Larry, of course besides Don Wolanchuk the "market timer," there is also Don Wolanchuk, the tout of money-losing small cap. story stocks. He has been touting VLNC as the "next $100" stock for several years. In this Feb. 2000 (bubble peak) interview, he touted several money-losing small caps, (such as EISQ, WAVC, ANTS, VLNC) which at the time sported combined valuations totalling several billion, while their combined revenues were less than $10 million, and their combined profits non-existent.

One wonders what a "market timer" was doing touting grossly overvalued story stocks at the peak of a market bubble.

Larry read my posts to Steve,AJ and others...DW he is the real deal and although quite bullish his calls on the Spoos, metals, currencies, interest rates are on the money.
I picked up something on his Excel SS that is right 75 percent of the time the last 5 years..Both on the buy and sell side..

Don is a very strong personality and is willing to share his thoughts openly. The more one exposes himself the more scrutiny is heaped upon him. Folks can laugh him off if they want but he has some timing techniques which appear very useful. You of all folks ought to appreciate that all systems (including HAL) and all gurus will fail us and may eventually be rendered useless.

It is difficult to envision his claim that there will be a melt up in the market to 16000 Dow. But, I never believed, like he did, it would get to 10,000 by 2000 and I'm sure plenty others, including Brubaker, were skeptical as well.

Seems to me some SI folks piss away a lot of time denigrating the personalities instead of listening to what they say and choosing for themselves what to take to heart and what to ignore.
