nycb, don't forget to subtract out rents for a decade ;-) btw, using a bubble time frame to prove stocks are better than housing is a bit over the top. there was a time when i could prove tulips were a better investment than homes. or birds... or pick you mania du jour.

owning isn't for everyone, that's for sure. one size doesn't fit all. but it is great for many, many people.
