Here's an article seen on the HP thread:

Message 17002925

"IBM is now the world's largest computer services company, has the second-biggest software business after Microsoft and is right behind Sun Microsystems in high-end corporate servers."

"Customers didn't really care about the latest, greatest, fastest box, he argued. They just wanted a system that could reliably run their business. Gerstner began to move the company away from its bread-and-butter -- the mainframe computer -- and focus it on providing computer services."

Interesting, IMHO.

First we'll see inventory replenish, then we'll hope that the final demand has improved. Certainly the current global monetary policy and in certain cases fiscal policies is working in our favor.

You hear alot about huge corporate debt - I'd love to know how much of that has been eliminated since the end of 2000 due to bankruptcies, etc. It's got to be close if not over 100 billion dollars.
