Messerschmidt-Bölkow-Blohm is MTU now (I guess) aka part of the Airbus consortium. I'll never forget the old pensioneer out at the Oberschleissheim grass-field airport, where they renovate the old machines. He talked about the ant-eater (D0-335, two propellers, one front one back, made a mockery of spitfires etc "It was one of the fastest piston-engined planes ever"). In the 60s they got one painstakingly together into a flying condition (10.000 + working hours) and then the last he heard of it was that it stands somewhere in Washington DC and kids are climbing over it ... I never met more love and dedication in such a prosaic, technical, "cool" person.

NSU Prinz, Isetta... that's all cars, no aviation. Isetta is the Queen Victoria of BMWs - about the time this car was being made, the old Quandt gambled his money to get BMW out of chapter 11.
