I don;t like 5) either -- rising commodity prices are not good for the market -- no way, no how.

Modest inflation is good for the market. Deflation the likes we have experienced the past year or two is bad for equities.

The price of copper always rises during an economic expansion and falls during economic contraction. The CRB Index (CRB 190.50) needs to stay above CRB 175 support from the 70's otherwise it portends not only double dip recession but potential depression as CRB could nosedive similar to the later part of the 29 - 33 depression down to CRB 100-115 range of the 60's.

Check the Bear kingpin's book... At the Crest...Prechter... its all there.

Rising commodity prices are GOOD for this market, so long as it is not hyperinflation.
