PA Promoting Tours in Palestine (IsraelNN.com) PA officials are busy promoting tourism, especially among the Spanish speaking peoples. The tours provide many attractive packages, including deals to Bethlehem, Jericho and more, explaining persons will arrive in Lod Airport, and travel to the PA autonomous areas via Haifa, never mentioning the word “Israel”. The maps being displayed at tourism festivals show Haifa and Lod Airport as part of “Palestine,” and the larger regional maps of the Mideast, show all of Israel as part of “Palestine”. The word “Israel” does not appear anywhere on maps or in PA tourism literature. At some of the tourism exhibits, one may find both PA and Israeli representatives. According to Tzvi Lotan, the head of Israeli tourism in Spain, one may often find that at the fairs in that country, the Israeli and PA delegates are not only in proximity to one another, but maintain a good working relationship. He added that many tourists that sign packages with Israel do travel to areas under PA control, especially Christian pilgrims visiting holy sites found in areas under PA control.
