Lay has decided, on advice of the snakes-in-the-grass who are doing his thinking for him now, that it would be inconvenient for Lay to appear before the Senate and House.

"Too adversarial" was what NPR said the press agent said. Fascinating he would walk away and have the balls to announce it in the middle of the Superbowl. I did predict it upstream, but since I had no foreknowledge of the dispersal of the Powers Report on Saturday night (also cynically orchestrated to diminish the audience for the news), I figured Lay would fake a medical emergency. Oh, well. As a conspiracy theorist, it turns out I'm only half-baked.

But I suspect that turkey Lay's goose is completely cooked. At least I'm hopeful. "Bye, Bye.... Spike"

Ciao!
