Thanks for sharing what probably cost you good money to find out.

Fred - You certainly paid your dues to develop that insight into the comparative performances of those services. And I have never corresponded with anyone who has tried more than two services, so I don't doubt that you have more experience than anyone else on SI! If you don't object, I'd like to put a link to your post in the original post in a category called "most informative posts." I wonder why those two-page ad spreads in the trading magazines don't tell us what you did?

When I first started trading actively I tried a dirt-cheap service, which shall remain unnamed, and found it wanting. After surveying the more capable offerings, I concluded that NexTrend offers the best value, the inclusion of time and sales being the clincher at that price level. Plus, they are just down the road from me a few miles, so I could check them out and see that they don't operate out of somebody's garage! It's the native sweetness of North Texas ladies that makes the customer service so good, I'm sure.

You left one thing unsaid in your review. Did you ever consider RealTick? My reason for never using it is price, since I'm not willing to spend that much while still learning to trade better. NexTrend remains a better service than I am a trader. Since you are such an experienced NexTrend user and trader, could you from time to time share with us how you use the service to make trading decisions, if your techniques are not proprietary? Thanks for a great post. - Mike

I run end of day filters and generate a list of stocks and alert prices.

What packages are available that can import a symbol, price list for alerts?

TIA

Mario
