russett, "Come on,...give a shot at the biggest carat gem found in the current bulk. You didn't give me your pick,...so how can you criticize my comments,...I'm on the record."
Nope. I'll not do that. I find it curious that you would accuse Vaughn of being a tout, and then sponsor a hype generating contest.
"As far as how much of the top of the pipes at Jackson Inlet that could be influenced by water action,...who knows,...but it could be a lot more than what's below the frost boil. These pipes have been around for millions of years. Think about it. Concentration of diamonds in the top of pipes is well known, and could be a significant contributor to the high percentage of of macros in these pipes. Especially considering that the people that have taken the samples from these pipes say that the pipe and the surrounding rock are highly fractured. This is an interesting comment."
I guess I'm failing to get the fact across that the 250 (dry) tonne sample is not exactly surficial, especially if blasting was required as I seem to recall. BTW, it's natural for the crater facies to have a higher concentration of diamonds than the diamtreme facies. If this is what you mean, I don't think I've seen any reference to crater facies, although altered or fractured kimberlite suggests that. In many cases, like most South African pipes, the crater facies are completely eroded away. The Kimberley area pipes are estimated to have been 80% eroded. Some of the NWT pipes are 20% eroded. This means no crater facies, but it remains to be seen what drilling will show at Freightrain. In any event, grade should not be dramatically lower in the diatreme, but it can make a difference where results from the crater facies are marginal. Maybe this is what you mean. If so, we just don't know if it is crater facies or diamtreme that consitutes the bulk of the sample. Maybe drilling will show the difference. Can it be determined otherwise? I don't know, except if the kimberlite is yellow, it is weathered and probably soft, not needing blasting.
"De Beers may not be that good at finding pipes,...but they are the best at knowing what's in there after looking at the core. They never give this information away, because it is at the heart of diamond mining, diamond curves, diamond grade, money in the bank (ggggggggggggg)."
So, how does this relate to anything we are discussing? By the way, De Beers is a private company now and doesn't have to disclose anything. Further, all their exploration work in the past was done by wholly owned subsidiaries such that disclosures were not required.
"Kaiser is a complete amateur compared to De Beers,"
Again, why do you bring up De Beers?
"...and you don't want to know my opinion of his analysis of diamond exploration. Have you followed his picks in the last few years. The guy picks 300+ bottom fishers every year,...it is natural that a few will rise, but his big pumps have dived into the red for years. I really don't know why anyone buys his rag."
O.k., Kaiser's had some bad picks. Maybe he's had lot of really bad picks. Who hasn't these recent years. The fact is, however, in the process of selling his services, he gets paid for educating his audience, and he is often a featured speaker at mining conferences. Personally, I wouldn't attempt to belittle him. Like you, I'm just an anonymous Internet persona with no disclosed and validated credentials for arguing mining basics with the likes of John Kaiser.
"As far as lots of cash. $10 million is peanuts in developing a diamond mine at this latitude,...and they no longer have 10 million."
I don't know if your joking here, but logic says if they have one dollar less than 10 million, they do not have 10 million dollars. What's the point? Everyone knows that sooner or later TWG will have to bring in a partner. Why does the checkbook balance matter. In the meantime, they will be in a better bargaining position the further they can advance the project(s) by themselves. You present yourself as a knowledgeable person, so maybe I'm missing something here.
"I'm hoping you will come to the PDAC in March. I will be at the TWG seminar if they have one,...and I'll bet they have something there,...core shack, investor exchange, seminar like they had last year,...they got a student to do last year's seminar and you could really find out the lay of the land there. We will find some way to meet and exchange notes."
Nope! I do not often travel to Canada for these things. Do you go to them in San Francisco?
"I'm not saying this isn't a good speculation. I'm also not saying to fill your boots and buy on pullbacks like some touts, because that would cause me to have a bad conscience, which is the point I was making in previous posts."
Just some friendly advice, and I'm trying not to step on your toes here, but to talk about one's honesty, conscience, or ethics can raise suspicions to the contrary (Psych 101). It's the used car salesman-type technique and it backfires on people who are sensitive to such declarations. Of course, this is sometimes difficult to avoid, especially for some people. I do agree that anyone who tells people to sell or to fill their boots can not be taken seriously. Nor can people who feign commitment, but who are really closet bashers. I know you will agree that the best use of these forums is for exchanging information and ideas in as unbiased a manner as possible.
"This is no where near a sure thing,...but it does look better to me than Otish and Coronation Bay,...for the moment,...all things are subject to change in the next announcement of results."
Right!
"What I am saying is they seem to be delaying results they should have available to them right now, which is a common practice with mining companies."
Seems to me they will release results when they have them. To do otherwise is against securities regulations, is it not? Are you saying TWG management is violating standards, or just that you suspect they may be in violation of standards?
"If they have some chit core,...they wait until they get a good core, or something to tout, then they release all the preceding results with the good results. Stops the stock price from diving precipitously. Of course if they fail to get any good results,....you have the old, "good news travels by jet plane, bad news by mule train,....or snail mail,....and why haven't they release results from the other core?? Simple question Hermann,...answer it??"
Could you be a little more clear. Seems that last paragraph was a bit of a jumble, and you ended it with a veiled accusation of wrong doing. I don't think that was your intent. If it was, why not be up front about it? |
