I object to people painting pictures where the Palestinians are the poor oppressed saints or vice versa that they are evil demons and Israel can do no evil.... To me it seems Israel is afraid of the alternative to Arafat so keeps him alive, but at the same time is trying to totally undermine him.... Arafat also is in a similar fear game which undermines himself.... But as I said it isn't clear what is really going on in the background, this could be just the surface game, or the background game is just to stave off US pressure or....
