Dear August: I'm 'just' not trying to be polite when I say to you that I can see perfectly clearly where you are coming from. If I were 'normal' I never would have started this thread. While your beliefs are very personal with The Lord I have set my course on a destination where just about every word I utter can be openly scrutinized; and not just me, but all the other intercessors that post here. By so doing, our relationship with God becomes very close to an open book. In that way, however ,our testimony becomes a powerful force.

Many things can be misconstrued in God's Kingdom. What started this discourse was of course a reference to perceived violence and this brings up an interesting bible verse.

Matthew 11:12 "And from the days of John The Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take it by force." Then in vs 13 for all the prophets and the law prophesied until John and vs 14 and if ye shall receive it this is Elias ( Elijah) which was for to come."

What I feel this means is, first, of course that the age of the prophets came to a close with John. Then secondly I am going to split hairs when it says that "the violent take it by force." It does not say that the violent take it by "violence". You see many Christians feel that where Jezebel is or the spirit of Jezebel is , that there the spirit of Elijah is also. Read Malachi Chap 4 vs 5 and 6 the last two verses in the Old Testament. Before the dreadful day of the Lord the spirit of Elijah will be loosed upon the earth. i.e. to turn the hearts of the children toward their fathers. i. e. to quell rebellion.

NOT. Jezebel shows up where Elijah is to stop the move of God ! But what happened to Jezebel. The king ordered her thrown off the palace and she was killed. What happened to her 750 prophets . The people whom she deceived killed them, after God called down fire and burned up the altar. This was a civil action. I'm trying hard but I cannot remember an instance where God condoned an individual to take the law into his own hands. Yes, He uses Kings or those in authority and governments but not individuals. Remember when Moses killed the Egyptian, he was in exile for 40 years as if God was saying we are going to have to work on your temper a few years before I can use you.

Many Christians have such a fervor for God that their zeal is misconstrued for violence. We know, up front, that the enemy will use decadence to thwart the purposes of God, to desensitive the soul to the Holiness of God, for who can be saved without a conviction that God is Holy, if you dont believe that: there is no need for cleansing, no need for restoration.

Christ restored the ear of the temple guard after Peter cut it off. He had to. The guard was merely doing his job and Christ recognized that . Christ was honoring the mans position and the authority of the guard's position.
And then there are the poor misguided and "lost" so called Christians that go around killing abortionists. Those extremists that ignore the laws of the land and the authority of the civic government.

I make no excuses here. These posters are spiritual warriors. Their weapons are spiritual. But the power they demonstrate or exhibit here are far more powerful than earthly armies. We are very few in number but only look at us as the trigger mechanism. Many times I dont even think we 'aim' that good. It's like the father takes his son out shooting at age 5. The father aims the rifle , lets the boy get into position behind the rifle and then says, go ahead son, pull the trigger...then KA BOOOOM, and you think, I did that gee ! That's about all we do here.In Christ.gregor
