Did I say that? I lived in London for several years which is one of the most cosmopolitan places in the world where everybody is a minority. I even had two American girlfriends during that time and suffer no offence from Americans whatsoever. There a few words different which can cause misunderstandings and the sense of humour/humor is very different, but the cultures are also very similar. Far more similarities between US and UK thinking than there are between the UK and the rest of Europe.
