What does it mean?

Think about the complexity of spectrum management as you twist paired and unpaired 5 MHz frequencies in a UMTS network. CDMA is approved for the following frequency bands - 450, 700, 800,900, 1700, 1800, 1900, 2100, 2400, 2500-2690 MHz. It would save alot of money if you could manage the different spectrum with a single band technology (VCO).

does anyone remember the agreements with Intel, TI and other chipmaker licensees? Can they use this new IPR?
