Here's the PR:

>>BILLERICA, Mass., Feb 4, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Bruker Daltonics Inc. (NASDAQ: BDAL chart, msgs) today announced that it has received a contract for its novel RAPID(TM) remote detectors for chemical defense. The total contract value exceeds $1 million, and has been financed by the U.S. Department of Defense Foreign Military Financing (FMF) program. This contract represents the first multiple systems order for our new RAPID system.

RAPID is based on infrared technology and has the ability to scan the horizon automatically. It can remotely identify most known chemical warfare agents, as well as many important toxic industrial chemicals, over distances of several kilometers. This rugged detector may be mounted on several platforms, and can even detect on the move.

Frank Thibodeau, U.S. Business Development Manager for security & defense products at Bruker Daltonics, commented: "We believe that more RAPID orders may also follow from civil defense authorities who are interested in an early warning after potential chemical attacks or disasters that could put populations at risk."<<

I could swear they said in a CC that this was an ion trap application. Apologies to anyone I misled by saying that. I'll go get my ears checked.
