Of course they do. That's why there is nothing substantial out at this point. But Intel has had more than a year at lobbying for optimizations with Microsoft, and at some point, they will have a solution that works for both of them. Like I said - Pentium 4 optimizations represent a huge competitive advantage for Intel. They are not going to let this pass by. Optimizations are going to be forthcoming - the only question is "when?", though my bet's on "soon".

Good point. How long do you think those Redmond boys will take coming up with an x86-64 OS? Not only that, but what are the chances they'll will want to bring a 64-bit OS to the desktop, given that they'll want to charge server prices for such a thing?
