I continue to be amazed by the stupidity of much mainstream economic and financial commentary. For example BUSINESS WEEK opines that since the recession has been fairly mild and AG is flooding the system with liquidity,we can look forward to a strong recovery and strong financial markets.

They seem oblivious the fact that the mild recession to date has corrected none of the distortions and imbalances plaguing the US and global economies. Like huge debts, enormous international trade imbalances, and continued big equity overvaluations. If we had a had a real recession and bear market that corrected or at least reduced substantially these imbalances, I would be much more positive on stocks today.
