Bill,

I too would hate to see the Bobbies become armed, permanently. I think it's a shame that the crime problem in Britain is forcing them to consider such a move.

However, I think it is painfully obvious that disarming the law abiding portion of the population was a political move that did in fact accomplish nothing to diminish the use of guns in crime.
