I think it's because the liberals agenda is not about reducing gun related crimes, but solely about disarming the average law abiding citizen. I think many liberals, includeing Ted do see gun control as a way to lower crime. However I think they are totally mistaken in thier belief that gun control will lower crime. I don't think Ted would still be for gun control if he thought that gun control was useless at controling violent crime. However this is an issue where people have strong opinions and most evidence is indirect or uncertain. You can always find ways to discount some evidence because you cant run controled experiments for this kind of thing, so it would probably be impossible to change most peoples minds in this area. Tim P.S. Sorry for the mispellings and typos in my posts today. I haven't been checking my posts carefully today. I am typing this from home where I only have dial up, and I have downloads going in the background. Everything is so slow that I have not bothered editing to try to save a little bit of time.

That would also be the experience of the NRA, as the entire issue has become political which has nothing to do with facts anyway - just turf and body count in a war of words. No, the liberals hate conservatives and they know that the conservatives are really into the whole paramilitary thing so they make a big issue of it. Liberals really don't care how many people are killed...its just a big socialite plot against the poor, down trodden conservatives. Disgusting, huh? May they burn in Hell.
