long-gone,

I've been following a few of the reactions to that book. I suppose I should read it to be informed, but it's not really my kind of history and it's really not in line with the issues I'm concerned with. The Supreme Court has already ruled that I have a second amendment right to own a gun. As for the issues that really concern me, it is the use of guns in crime.

I am equally upset when someone uses a gun in a crime as when an accident occurs with a gun. I find it quite painful, just as those that love the sport of racing are hurt every time a driver is killed in a crash. I find it disgusting when a child is injured just as when my best friends son was killed by a 19 year old drunk driver.

I am not for legislation that makes people feel good but does nothing to reduce gun crime. Accidents do happen, but many are preventable and I would support more education programs for gun owners and potential owners. Gun safeties are a panacea, the best protection is a good quality safe.
