I did not follow the case closely, so it is hard to say. Off- hand, I would say that if she directly facilitated the bombings, and if several people were killed, it was justice......

Didn't the crime she was charged with involve the death of, or injury to, a law enforcement person? If so, that could be the explanation -- the cops take any attacks on them very seriously, and never forget. Nor should they -- if people think they can get away with killing police officers, all our liberties are much more seriously at risk.
